Getting Started Checklist

Students Applying for Unclassified Admissions

Only NINE hours of course work taken as an “Unclassified Student” can be applied towards a degree program. All unclassified students should submit a classified application once they have reached the maximum of nine hours.  Full admission into the MS Public Policy and Admistration Distance Program will be based up successful completion of all classified admissions requirements.

______ 1. Complete the application Online.

______ 2. Request two Official Transcripts from the college in which you earned your baccalaureate degree.  Request official transcripts from all colleges you attended after earning your baccalaureate degree. 

______ 3. Submit a $30.00 application fee.

Mail all forms, transcripts, and application fees to:

______ 4. You will receive a letter of acceptance when you are officially admitted into the university.  

______ 5. Review the Student Orientation Guide for important information regarding student responsibilities.

______ 6. Unclassified students must register for classes by completing a Registration Form.  All forms should be faxed to Jane Maddox at 662-325-2657. 

______ 7. Textbooks are available for ordering 2 to 3 weeks prior to classes beginning. You can order your textbooks through the MSU Bookstore.

______ 8. Visit http://mycourses.msstate.edu and read the Student Resources.
