Admission Requirements

Admission to the MPPA program is open to students who have earned at least a "B" average in the last 64 hours in a relevant undergraduate major as part of a bachelor's degree earned at an accredited academic institution. Admission may also be granted by special permission of the Mississippi State University Department of Political Science & Public Administration graduate faculty.

Applicants with less than a "B" average on their last two years of undergraduate work must take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). International students are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and score greater than 600. Applicants must submit at least three (3) letters of reference from persons qualified to evaluate their undergraduate scholastic performance (or quality of administrative service), and suitability for graduate study in this program.
