Veteran's Assistance

The Veteran's Assistance Office provides counseling for students who are eligible for veteran's educational benefits. The office helps students apply for benefits, provides information, and serves as a liaison between the veteran and the VA Regional Processing Office. The Veteran's Assistance Office is located at 126 Magruder St.

Students who wish to receive VA educational assistance for the first time, should contact the Veteran's Benefits Counselor Melanie Owen 662.325.6719 or mowens@saffairs.msstate.edu to determine which forms need to be completed.

All students receiving benefits from the VA must complete a Verification of VA Enrollment form and a VA Information form each semester/term they wish to receive benefits. Both forms must be returned to the Veteran's Assistance Office. Your advisor must sign the Verification of VA Enrollment form before returning it to the Veteran's Assistance Office.
