Military Program
The Distance MBA program at Mississippi State University is military friendly. What does that mean for you?
We offer core classes with seats (virtual) for MS Military students at a special military rate.
Military eligible for this rate include:
- Mississippi National Guard members
- Mississippi Reserve Unit members (all services)
- U.S. Armed Forces veterans living in Mississippi
- U.S. Armed Forces members on active duty in Mississippi
- U.S. Armed Forces members on duty outside Mississippi, if they have maintained Mississippi as state of legal residence under the provisions of the Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act of 1940 (Federal Law)
- Mississippi State University alumni stationed outside Mississippi
Our Distance MBA does not require any on campus visits. This makes it easier for military
members to continue their education while deployed or after changing stations.
If the service member elects to take the courses at the campus, it is easy to transition to
distance learning and complete the program.
We are a Servicemembers Opportunity College (SOCS) and follow the Institutional Operating Guidelines to facilitate graduate program admissions, enrollment, and degree completion by servicemembers.
We have a flexible transfer of credit policy. We can give up to six hours transfer credit for graduate level military coursework evaluated by the American Council of Education (ACE), or from a recognized university provided they contribute to the current program of graduate study and were taken within the six year time limit for the completion of the MBA degree.
Our new Center for America’s Veterans provides Veteran’s with many services. The G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery Center for America’s Veterans was established by MSU President Robert H. “Doc” Foglesong to provide higher education opportunities to veterans through programs and services unavailable from other institutions. For more information about their services, please visit their website http://www.veterans.msstate.edu/
We do not charge any out of state tuition for distance courses. If you choose to attend on campus, you may also be eligible for waiver of out of state tuition under the Mississippi Code.
Military members called to active duty or deployed are eligible for full refund.
