MBA Students Win GMAC Award

The MBA program at Mississippi State University recently won the Team MBA award for Community Service from the Graduate Management Admissions Council. This was a project of Dr. Joel Collier's MKT 8153 Strategic Marketing Management. Dr. Collier teaches the distance and the on campus sections of this course.

Two local MBA students flew to Virginia to accept the award.

The 2009 TeamMBA Award recipients, selected by an international panel of judges, were:

The Boston University School of Management, recipient of the All-School Award for its long-standing tradition of supporting student volunteerism with local organizations and activities with social responsibility and sustainability themes.

Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business, winner of the Service Award for Collaborative Program. The award recognizes the involvement of Hankamer students in the Prison Entrepreneurship Program, which helps inmates develop business plans in preparation for their release from prison.

The Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, City University of New York, recipient of the Service Award for Original Program. The award recognizes the school for its students' efforts to help young people understand the benefits of budgeting and learn how to properly use credit.
