Application Process
For full admission to the MBA program in the Mississippi State College of Business, students must complete the process for classified admission. The admission process includes meeting our admission criteria score (ACS). To find out if you meet our ACS visit the online calculator at http://business.msstate.edu/gsb/acscalculator.php.
Unclassified admission to the university is available for students who want to take classes as a certificate student or who have not had the opportunity to take the GMAT yet - a requirement for full admission into the program.
Unclassified students must have a 3.0 GPA to enroll in classes. Students admitted as unclassified students by Mississippi State University will be evaluated by the Program Advisor prior to being placed into MBA prerequisite and core courses.
Financial aid is not available to unclassified students.
Classified Admissions: The following is a guideline designed to ensure that you complete all paperwork necessary for taking courses in the MBA program at Mississippi State University as a classified student. (For unclassified application see Unclassified Admissions checklist below.)

______ 1. Complete the online Application for Admission which includes:
- Statement of Purpose
- letters of recommendation
- Resume (see sample)
- $40 application fee
Complete instructions regarding the statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, and payment of the application fee are found within the online application. If you did not submit your $40 payment during the online application process please contact the Office of Graduate Admissions at 662.325.7400 to do so now.
______ 2. Take the GMAT and request that your score is sent to MSU.
If your score is less than 510, or your GPA is less than 3.0, compute your Admissions Criteria Score (ACS) on the following formula (200 x GPA on last 60 hours) + GMAT = 1110 ACS. If your ACS is less than 1110, please e-mail Tamra Swann tswann@aoce.msstate.edu to discuss options.
______ 3. Request two official transcripts from EVERY university or school you have previously attended. These should be sent to:

______ 4. Complete registration instructions after receiving your letter of acceptance.
______ 5. Order your textbooks through the MSU Bookstore.
- Textbooks are usually available for ordering 2 weeks before classes begin.
______ 6. Download required software and update browser settings.
______ 7. Visit mycourses.msstate.edu and read the Student Resources.
Unclassified Admissions: The following is a guideline designed to ensure that you complete all paperwork necessary for taking courses in the MBA program at Mississippi State University as an unclassified student. Unclassified students may take all prerequisite courses and no more than 9 hours of core MBA courses before taking the GMAT and submitting an application for classified admission.

Complete instructions regarding payment of the application fee are found within the online application. Unclassified students cannot register online. You must complete a registration form to register for classes.
