Application Process

MAT-S Graduate Application Process

• The GRE, Praxis I, and Praxis II must be taken prior to submitting your application.
• For Admission Term, select the semester in which you will begin taking classes as a classified student.
• For Primary Major, select Secondary Teacher Alternate Route-STAR.
• Do not choose a primary concentration.
• You must complete the statement of purpose.
• Be sure to hit the Submit button once you have completed your application.
• Contact your references shortly after submitting your application to ensure that they have received the proper forms. 

Please note that your application will not be considered until all forms have been submitted and your application fee has been paid.  For additional MAT-S admission requirements, please see the admission checklist.

TMI/ Unclassified Graduate Application Process

For those needing to take courses as an Unclassified Graduate student, please see the guidelines below.

• Go to www.grad.msstate.edu and click on "apply online" in the upper right corner. (You’ll have to create a Login ID and Pin to begin your application)
• For Admission Term, select the semester in which you will begin taking classes.
• Make sure you choose the campus that you will be attending.
• For College, select Graduate School.
• For Primary Major, select Unclassified-Grad (UNC).
• Do not choose a primary concentration.
• Be sure to hit the Submit button once you have completed your application.
• Please note that your application will not be considered until all forms have been submitted and your application fee has been paid.

If you begin an application and forget your login and/or password, do not begin another application. Please contact the Office of the Graduate School at 662.325.7400 for assistance.
