Applying for a Degree

Procedure:

• You must contact Cindy Wasson at cwasson@geosci.msstate.edu or 662-325-2908 ext. 5.
• You must also supply the Department of Geosciences with all official academic transcripts. Send transcripts to

• An evaluation will be made of your transcripts.
• You will be contacted and given needed information.
  

You must have 124 semester hours. Thirty-two of those hours must be upper level courses (3000-4000) from Mississippi State University to fulfill the residency requirement. We can only accept 62 hours from a community college. Your residency at Mississippi State will be satisfied with the Broadcast Meteorology Program curriculum.

The following courses are required to obtain a degree from Mississippi State University:

Note: Your Mississippi State GPA must be a 2.0 or higher to graduate.

Once the requirements are met and approved by Cindy Wasson complete the following steps:

1. Access the OnCampus Portal.
2. Once logged into the system, Select "Student & Financial Aid".
3. Select "Registration and Academic Records".
4. Select "Apply for A Degree".

Applications must be submitted by the following due dates.*

* A $50.00 degree audit fee will be assessed each time you apply for a degree.

* Met by successfully completing water resources in the BMP/ OMP
