RDG 3113 - Early Literacy Instruct I

(Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education. Co-requisite: RDG 3123). Three hours lecture. Field experience. Foundational knowledge of the English linguistic system. Methods/materials for teaching systematically the oral/ written language connection, concepts about prints, phonological/orthographic awareness, phonics principles.

 (Prerequisite:RDG 3113 and RDG 3123; Corequisite:RDG 3423,  EDE 3223 ) Three hours lecture. Literacy teaching and  learning for upper elementary and middle school. Emphasis on  reading instruction,strategy instruction, and assessment.  Field experience.
