Welcome to Community College Studies

The Community College Studies Distance Program at Mississippi State University consists of three graduate level degree programs developed specifically to meet the needs of adult professionals who require flexibility in program design:

Master of Arts in Teaching - Community College Instruction (MAT)
Master of Science - Workforce Educational Leadership (WEL)
Doctor of Philosophy - Community College Leadership (CCL)

All three distance degree programs are delivered as hybrids in which two or more delivery methods are utilized to allow for maximum interaction, academic rigor, and course content quality that is to be expected at the graduate level.

The majority of students enrolled in these three distance degree programs are full-time Community College employees; however, any individual interested in pursuing the administrative/instructional field of Community College Studies at the Community College and 4-Year Institutional levels are encouraged to apply.

In particular, the distance degree programs have been created to train the next generation of Community College Leaders to be qualified professionals prepared for the rich complexity and diversity of today's educational environment.
